Rick Carter
Upper School English & Bible

My name is Rick Carter and I teach upper school English and Bible. My path to NCA has been quite an adventure. After earning a BA degree in English from USC I pursued a career in the corporate world – working for over 30 years as a corporate trainer at a fortune 500 company. During my time there I began feeling the Holy Spirit pulling me in a new direction. In 2014 I followed God’s calling and stepped out in faith to follow His leading into Christian education.

I have been a youth leader and teacher in my church for many years and have a passion to lead young people to a deeper walk with Christ. Over time, this passion led me to make a major life change and pursue a career where I could use my educational skills, English training, and gift to lead young people in a school that honors God.

Our world is rapidly changing and is becoming increasingly hostile to the Gospel of Christ. Religious slogans and shallow faith will not cut it. Our young people need a deeply rooted, personal faith in the living God to be the people our world now requires. My desire is to help them in finding their calling and place in this ever-darkening world – to be the salt and light to their generation.

I have been married to my wife, Sue, for 28 years. We have been blessed with 4 wonderful children ranging in ages from 15 to 25.

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)” – Ephesians 2:4-5
