Wendy Thompson
Middle School Teacher

My name is Wendy Thompson. I count myself blessed to have the
opportunity to use the gifts God has given me to serve the student
body and I am excited to officially join the Northside staff this August
2019.  God lead our family to NCA in 2014 when my son and daughter
were in middle school. We wanted to ensure our children received a
top-notch education with Christian foundations.  I am committed to
ensuring the students that come through my classes have the same
wonderful opportunities my children have experienced.
I graduated from the University of Georgia in 1997 with a Bachelor of
Science in Education.  I worked as a therapist in hospital and rehab
settings prior to marrying my husband.  While working at home and
raising children, I volunteered at NCA through the booster club,
supporting the cheer leading team, and substitute teaching.  As a
substitute teacher, I realized how much I enjoyed being in the
classroom. This past year, I was blessed to be a full-time substitute
teacher for classes in history; my favorite subject.  My goal is to
inspire students to know how God is actively shaping history.  When
not in the classroom, I spend time with my family and friends, reading
and playing games.  One of the core inspirational scriptures for me is
Acts 20:24 New International Version (NIV):
“24  However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to
finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given
me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.”
