Upper School Art Teacher
My name is Jordan Schmidt. This past May, I graduated from Clemson University
with a degree in Production Studies in Performing Arts with a Scenic Art emphasis
and a minor degree in Fine Art. Throughout college, I had some incredible work
opportunities from painting professionally at a regional theatre in Greenville
to painting on two Nationall Broadway tours.
Towards the end of my collegiate career, however, I felt called to work outside of the
theatre world focusing more on being a freelance artist and photographer. I
believe God was preparing me for this position at NCA, ensuring I would have the
experiences and skillset that I needed to be a strong leader and a well-rounded
educator in the arts. Looking back through college, I can see the ways God was
shaping and preparing me for this next chapter.
I’ve been recently praying with the phrase, “Talent is not a reward to be glorified but
a call to humility, beauty, and service,” and I hope to embody and inspire that same
attitude as my students and I journey together this year.
