About

Northside Christian Academy Early Education Center is part of the overall dynamic ministry of Northside Baptist Church. Northside Christian Academy Early Education Center exists as an outreach to the community by assisting parents with their overall role as the primary educators of their child. NCA Early Education Center is honored to provide superior care and an excellent educational program from 6 weeks of age until entrance into kindergarten. Our goal is to provide your child with the very best developmentally appropriate environment which will create a passion for learning. It is our responsibility to help young children to grow in the spiritual, emotional, creative, social, cognitive, and physical areas of development in which the Lord has created them. We have a strong commitment to God's Word, and we fully integrate godly principles into every aspect of our curriculum. Our academically challenging curriculum is designed to equip each student to be successful in the next steps of their scholastic journey. We seek to create a nurturing environment as an extension of the home while assisting children to become independent and competent.

We believe whole-heartedly that the Lord has called us to minister to the family as well as the child and we take the call very seriously. It is extremely important to NCA Early Education Center to build relationship with the parents as we partner to provide an optimum experience for this window of opportunity for growth during the early years.

It is our prayer that we will raise up little "Champions for Jesus Christ," as we are fully committed to sharing the love of Jesus and His passion for service.

I was born and raised here in South Carolina and spent my adolescence and college years in the upstate. After a high school mission trip, at the age of 17, I knew that God wanted me to serve Him in full time ministry.

Samantha Shiflett

Early Education Co-Director

West Campus

My name is Samantha Shiflett. I am the co-director of the Early Education Center at our West Campus location in West Columbia. I am originally from Central Virginia, but went to Syracuse University to get my B.A.S in Education Studies of Inclusive Elementary Education, then moved to Columbia 5 years ago. I have been working at Northside for 4 years and couldn’t be more blessed. I decided to attend Liberty University’s online program to get my Masters in Early Childhood Education. I love being able to teach students basics with Christian values and Biblical foundation. Each student needs a chance to see the good that comes from following God. My life verse is Psalms 19:14 (KJV) Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

My name is Martha Acklin and I am the Co-Director of the Early Education Center West Campus. I was born and raised in Titusville, FL and I moved to Columbia, SC eight years ago. I graduated from Columbia International University with a Bachelor’s degree in Ministry and Psychology. It is truly an honor to work at Northside and have the opportunity to set a Biblical foundation for each of the children who attend the Early Education Center. I believe in pursuing excellence and glorifying God in all that I do. My life verse is Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
