Middle School Art
My journey has been quite an adventure and I'm thrilled to add Northside Christian Academy to this wonderful story. After receiving my master's degree from Parsons School of Art and Bank Street School of Education in NY city, I returned to teaching art in Charleston where I started a Christian club that is still in existence today. My passion for Jesus led me to China where I taught English in a university and tasted the sweet victory of mission's work firsthand. This was followed with a short stint in London for mission's training and into Africa where I lived and worked for five years. Art has always been a passion and I taught this along with leading a Kenyan youth group in Nairobi. I traveled extensively throughout the continent and made my way through Europe on my return trip to the US. God was very faithful and I soon met my husband Scott and moved to Columbia. We have two beautiful daughters Holly (22) and Jayne Cameron (18) that are attending college. It's been a privilege to work among the Navaho in Arizona during the summer months teaching art and telling them about the love of Jesus. I retired from full time teaching in public school this year where I also served as the huddle coach for Fellowship of Christian Athletes for 18 years. "As the deer panteth after the water brooks so my soul longs after thee" (Psalm 42:1) is my favorite verse of scripture and I hope will forever be my passion as I continue this road called life:)
